The Green Economy Investment Solution (GEIS)-2025

Agribusiness plays an important role in the agricultural transformation process by providing forward and backward linkages to other economic sectors of development. Apart from a rapidly growing local and regional market demand, the recent improvement in agriculture growth performance opens new opportunities for the supply and competitiveness of agriculture commodities on the continent

The Green Economy Investment Solution (GEIS) is an approach designed to address gaps in food production, hunger, and income generation through agribusiness investment with adaptations to climate change. The GEIS is a descent green employment investment product blended to promote scalable climate change food production adaptation financing for building community resilience to challenging weather conditions, concerns, and root causes.

Through the GEIS, Rayon Consults adopted the Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) approach focusing on 8 steps of risk management; risk analysis and impact mapping, planning, preparedness, mitigation, and resilience building to progressively address climate challenges.

Our investment is designed to strengthen Rayon Consults’ social enterprising model leveraging contribution towards the realization of 4 Sustainable development goals[1] (13) Ensuring collective Climate action, (1) Reducing household poverty, (2) Hunger Reduction, (5) promoting gender equality, and (17) building social partnerships for sustainable food production and the COP 2022 targets

The GEIS is a unique model designed to create a collective chain of opportunities for collaborative social enterprise development, boosting philanthropic partnerships, community participation, knowledge sharing, co-creation and financing for sustainable food production systems, value addition along selected value chains, Product Marketing, and create scalable decent employment opportunities for both youth and Women.

Our service model is built to enhance sustainable food production and harvest handling opportunities beyond inevitability for emerging communities in post-conflict situations and recovery situations;

 

  1. Facilitating community participation in risk assessment, planning, Resource mapping, and promotion of sustainable land, Water utilisation and forest resource conservation systems for resilience,

 

  1. Promoting kitchen and market gardening to address nutritional deficiencies and household income generation in conflict and posting conflict situations. This has been the most viable resilience building and poverty reduction strategy due to high demand on the market. By investing in kitchen gardening through co-creation we have been able to inspire the growth of rural green economies and descent employment for both women and youth

The theory behind this model is to link funding streams with rural farmers in green employment solutions to raise capital by facilitating commercial readiness, quality assurance and promoting sustainable production.
